Website Update & Refresh

Website Update & Refresh

The HOME page has received an update and includes’.

  • CPI/ RPI Graphs – How the value of how the “pre-1997” portions of pensions have changed since 2008.
  • A revised template that members may use to contact the Heineken UK MD and ask for his support in restoring the loss of value.

Use the template and add your support!

We would urge as many of you as possible to write to the Managing Director of Heineken UK Ltd, Mr Boudewijn Haarsma,(postal address below or use email address of boudewijn.haarsma@heineken.co.uk) reminding him of the undertaking, asking him to do everything possible to protect pensioners against the effects of inflation this year and to take steps to repair the damage caused by Heineken not having complied with what it said it would do in 2008.

2021 AGM
Dear SNPG members
Given the continuing challenges of COVID and the reluctance still of many to meet up with others in confined
spaces we have decided again not to hold an AGM this year. We intend to circulate a note summarising the main
issues of interest which have arisen this year, as we did last year, and hope to have this on the website before the year end.
We hope you will not be too disappointed with this decision and that by this time next year things will be sufficiently back to normal to hold the 2022 AGM as usual.
Kind regards
SNPG Chair
Communication with Heineken UK Pensions team.
We have been asked to pass on a message to ask that if anyone needs to write to the Heineken UK Pensions team or Heineken UK management that they do so by email if possible. If they do send a letter by post could they please include an email address for return correspondence. At the moment the preferred means of communication is by email rather than post due to staff working from home and paper handling being a problem.
The Email Address is:       snpensions@capita.co.uk

Heineken Discretionary Increase 2016

The latest release of data by the Office of National Statistics showed RPI inflation of 1.9% in the year to July 2016. We are coming up to the time of year when Heineken will make a decision on discretionary increases for pre 1997 S&N pensions. We have written to David Forde, managing director of Heineken UK, emphasising the importance of protecting pre 1997 pensioners against current inflation and our hope that Heineken will make good the historic loss of value resulting from Heineken not following S&N’s historic practice of protecting all pensioners against the effects of inflation (up to 5%) as they said they would do at the time of the takeover.
In past years we would have encouraged as many people as possible to write to Mr Forde in similar terms. However we believe that this year it would be worth not doing so and seeing whether an increase at least in line with inflation is given. If it is not given we would consider how best to respond next year.
